软银愿景基金首轮募资超过930亿美元

上周六,全球最大私募股权基金 - 软银愿景基金(SoftBank Vision Fund)宣布,已筹集930多亿美元的资金,出资者包括软银集团、沙特主权基金、阿联酋主权基金、苹果、富士康、高通和夏普。

软银表示,基金未来将主要投资于物联网、人工智能、机器人、移动端APP和电信等领域,倾向于进行金额超过1亿美元的投资。软银将把旗下芯片架构企业ARM 24.99%的股份作价82亿美元放入基金,作为自己投资的一部分,但软银未来仍将拥有ARM 100%的投票权。软银表示,愿景基金的目标仍是募集到1000亿美元,基金预计将在6个月内关闭融资通道。

印度数字支付公司Paytm获软银集团14亿美元投资

5月18日,印度最大的数字支付新创公司Paytm宣布获得日本软银集团的14亿美元投资。Paytm称这次投资将巩固它在印度数字支付领域的领导地位,扩大用户基数并为消费者提供一系列新的金融服务产品。

Paytm目前已经发展成为印度最大的数字支付公司。据报道,其母公司One97 Communications在2015年的估值就已经达到42亿美元,而随着此次获得软银集团的投资,该公司最新估值预计将在70亿到90亿美元之间。据悉,软银已买进One97 10亿美元的新股,相当于持股14.2%,并进一步买进4亿美股的现有股票。

在未来3-5年内,Paytm计划投资约16亿美元扩大服务范围。除此之外,该公司还将拓展自己在线上和线下的存在。本月23日,Paytm推出了Paytm支付银行,为印度用户提供快速和基础的银行服务。

英国27个机场推出比特币支付停车服务

英国机场停车服务提供商SkyParkSecure现在已经正式接受比特币作为支付方式,覆盖区域包括伦敦、利物浦、格拉斯哥和贝尔法斯特等城市的机场。

位于英国西北部黑泽市的SkyParkSecure并不拥有或运营汽车停车场,而是一家机场停车服务以及其他旅行服务(如酒店和休息室)预订平台。这家停车服务提供商声称已经为超过160万次预订提供了帮助,并且为消费者提供了折扣。如今,SkyParkSecure声称已经成为第一家接受比特币支付机场停车服务的英国独立旅行公司。

此前,美国停车服务提供商Top Airport Parking也推出了一项类似的服务,宣布开始接受比特币和其他25种加密货币来支付在丹佛国际机场的停车服务费。

涨幅超越比特币 以太币今年上涨23倍

本周三,比特币价格突破2500美元重要心理关口,一度升至2537.16美元,创历史新高。自上周六首次突破2000美元以来,比特币价格5天内涨幅超过40%,今年迄今上涨逾160%。与此同时,围绕比特币的看涨情绪刺激了对其他加密货币的需求,尤其是以太币(ETH),后者已从1月1日的8.24美元升至203.30美元,涨幅高达2367%。以太币被视为"比特币2.0版",采用与比特币不同的区块链技术"以太坊"(Ethereum)。与比特币不同的是,企业更加注重如何将以太坊技术用于真实世界的应用。

以太坊是一个全新开放的区块链平台,允许任何人在平台中建立和使用通过区块链技术运行的去中心化应用,由23岁的程序员Vitalik Buterin发明。目前已有几家银行使用以太坊开发和测试区块链交易应用。

互联网眼镜品牌 Warby Parker 推出在线验光服务

近日,眼镜电商 Warby Parker宣布推出在线眼镜验光服务,借助新推出的 Preion Check APP,只需要一台电脑、一部手机和一张信用卡,用户就可以在家中完成视力测试,不过这一测试并非针对裸眼视力,而是帮助用户判断现在所佩戴的眼镜的度数是否发生了变化。

根据介绍,Preion Check APP 的验光基本原理和传统验光方法类似,测试过程中,电脑屏幕上会显示不同的图案和文字,用户需要站距离电脑屏幕在 12 英尺外,根据提示选择相应图案、并在手机上输入答案即可。测试结果会首先反馈至后台医师处,由后台医师判定目前的眼镜度数是否能够满足需求,如果度数发生了变动,Warby Parker 则会为用户提供新的配镜处方。整个过程大概需要 20 分钟左右。

日本乐桃航空接受比特币支付

5月23日,日本最大的廉价航空供应商乐桃航空(Peach Aviation Ltd.)宣布将成为日本首家接受比特币购买机票的航空公司。

乐桃航空坐落于日本大阪,自2011年起因提供廉价旅行票务而闻名。该公司表示,今年年底之前他们将接受比特币预订航班及购买服务。乐桃航空表示,数字货币立法的改变支撑了商业领域的发展。他们计划未来将比特币支付推荐给其他合作企业以及当地政府。日本乐桃航空将会加入其它接受比特币支付的国际航空公司,比如说拉脱维亚航空、波罗的海航空和LOT波兰航空等。除此之外,Coincheck和Bitflyer等日本比特币企业也计划在今年夏天与更多商户建立合作。日本已经有约4500家零售商店和餐馆引入了比特币支付,交通运输业则是首次。

RSK获得350万美元A轮融资 或推出比特币测试网络Ginger

5月23日,位于阿根廷首都布宜诺斯艾利斯区块链解决方案RSK Labs在Consensus 2017大会上宣布获得350万美元A轮融资。本轮融资的投资方包括众多企业和个人,如Decentral与Jaxx首席执行官Anthony Di Iorio,以及比特币挖矿公司,如BitFury和比特大陆。2016年,RSK Labs获得100万美元种子轮融资。

RSK执行主管表示,公司计划将这笔资金用于研发,增加RSK网络安全性以及在未来几个月部署主网络。在这次大会上,RSK Labs还宣布将向公众开放其产品测试网络--GinGEr,从而更多的用户能够在这个平台上开始创建和测试他们自己的智能合约。公开信息显示,RSK是一种双向挂钩侧链,将智能合约的功能性移植到了比特币网络。RSK还引入了一种链下协议,用于所谓的"接近即时的"支付。

花旗银行联合纳斯达克开发区块链全球支付解决方案

在日前召开的三届区块链技术峰会Consensus 2017上,斯达克与花旗银行宣布正在合作开发一种完整的区块链支付解决方案。

Chain与花旗银行此前已经开始共同研究推出花旗银行的新服务--CitiConnect forBlockchain(CCB),这项新服务吸收了区块链网络的支付能力,其中这个区块链网络就是纳斯达克的私人市场交易所--纳斯达克Linq。通过CCB与Linq之间一种联系,已经使用花旗银行的跨境支付自动化处理(WorldLink)完成了一系列的支付交易。客户将可以通过纳斯达克的Linq平台使用CCB和WorldLink支付服务来进行全球支付。WorldLink支付服务是花旗银行的跨境多币种支付交易解决方案。区块链账本的交易活动实时可见性将导致提高运营效率和便于和解。

金融科技中心Lattice80与新加坡南洋理工大学合作开启学习项目

近日,新加坡金融科技中心LATTICE80宣布与南洋理工大学达成协议,将针对该学校大一和大二的学生开启Fintech学习项目。LATTICE80表示,目前中心已经入驻了超过85家创业公司,它们将与学校合作开发有关前沿科技、行业监管、项目投资等方面的学习课程。据悉,新加坡金融管理局(MAS)也计划拨款支持该项目。

LATTICE80主席Joe Seunghyun Cho在一份声明中表示:"事实证明,新加坡是适合建立全球性金融科技中心的地方。因为新加坡是一个传统的金融和贸易中心,既有法律基础,又有许多投资人,为学生提供必要的学习资源对于新加坡金融科技行业在未来的发展具有重要意义。"

美国比特币期权交易所LedgerX获1140万美元B轮融资

5月22日,美国比特币期权交易所LedrX的母公司Ledger Holdin宣布完成1140万美元B轮融资。此轮融资的领投方为迈阿密国际控股集团(MIH)以及汇银投资(Huiyin Blockchain Ventures)基金。据悉,这笔资金支持LedgerX计划运营受交易所和结算所监管的比特币和其他数字货币。

目前,LedgerX在等待美国交易委员会(CFTC)最终批准其比特币期权交易服务。早在2015年年底时,LedgerX曾收到过交易委员会的临时批准。LedgerX此前筹集到了150万美元种子轮资金,投资方包括谷歌以及光速创投。

区块链联盟R3宣布获得1.07亿美元融资

5月23日,区块链联盟R3宣布获得1.07亿美元新一轮投资,据悉,这是分布式账本技术领域里规模最大的一笔投资。此前,R3原计划融资额为2亿美元,之后降低为1.5亿美元。显然此次获得反而融资金额远低于预期。

在Consensus2017大会上,R3宣布一共有40多家全球知名金融机构参与了本轮融资,包括SBIGroup、美国美林银行、汇丰银行、ING、美国富国银行、巴克莱银行、瑞银集团、巴西银行、Natixis,以及ItaúUniBAnco等。本轮投资还引入了两家非会员战略投资方,分别是芯片巨头英特尔公司和新加坡政府旗下私募股权巨头淡马锡控股。

公开信息显示,R3于2015年9月成立,核心职能是制定银行业区块链技术开发的行业标准,以及探索实践用例,并建立银行业的区块链组织。

摩根大通与Zcash就Quorum项目达成合作

Zcash首席执行官Zooko Wilcox在Consensus 2017大会上宣布,公司已经与摩根大通达成合作,为该银行的企业级区块链Quorum提供一层新的隐私层。

早在2015年11月份时,摩根大通首席执行官Jamie Dimon曾与区块链社区发生了摩擦,当时他公开表示"没有政府会容忍一种旨在规避政府管制的加密货币,"但他同时也表示,自己对分布式账本技术在金融领域的应用有着兴趣。此后,这家估值达到3000亿美元的巨头银行便摇身一变成为了区块链行业的领导者,去年三月份时,摩根大通在一次超级账本(Hyperledger)会议上公布了名为朱诺( Juno)的早期区块链实验。而在今年,摩根大通的Quorum被微软的Azure区块链即服务平台正式接受。此后,这家银行正式脱离了R3分布式账本联盟,并成为了企业以太坊联盟的创始成员。

BitPay推出比特币Visa预付卡,可在131个国家使用

BitPay首席商务官Sonny Singh在Consensus 2017大会上宣布,BitPay的比特币预付卡服务已经扩张到了100多个新的国家。这个依托在Visa名下的预付卡能够用加密货币进行美元充值,最终以欧元、英镑或美元的形式支出,可在全球范围内使用。

这可能是这个比特币初创公司自2014年以来所做的最大胆的决定。这个项目在发展早期的时候曾经遇到过不少阻碍,不过,Pair说他们和Visa的合作可以解决很多问题。

BitPay表示,自从去年在Consensus 2016公布了这一产品(当时只能在国内使用)之后,目前已经有15,000笔预订。另外,该初创公司还表示,自去年开始,越来越多的人开始要求他们推出国际版的比特币预付卡。

Samsung Pay登陆台湾,与国泰世华等7家银行达成合作

5月24日,三星电子昨日在台北举行发布会,宣布其开发的移动支付产品Samsung Pay正式登陆台湾市场。

台湾三星电子总经理李载烨表示,目前台湾智慧型手机普及率已达82%,未来一年三星移动支付在台用户数将突破百万。目前,Samsung Pay在台湾与国泰世华、玉山、台新、台北富邦等7家银行以及万事达、VISA两大国际发卡组织合作,采用NFC(感应式读卡机)与磁条感应技术,对传统的POS磁条刷卡系统也适用。国泰世华银行总经理李伟正表示,数字化与移动化正在改变消费者的生活形态与消费习惯,同时改变银行与客户的互动及服务方式,银行业必须顺应这一潮流,才能在市场竞争中生存。

支付宝HK正式上线 香港居民可进行线下支付

5月24日,支付宝宣布推出香港版电子钱包支付宝HK,正式为香港居民提供无现金服务。独立的支付宝HK除以港币计价外,更可接受线下付款。

去年8月,香港金融管理局发布第三方支付牌照,支付宝香港公司成为首批支付牌照获得者,可以为当地用户提供数字金融服务。经过了半年时间,支付宝HK终于亮相。此前,香港用户只能在淘宝上使用支付宝。支付宝HK上线后,向香港用户提供了扫码付、商家优惠和集印花三大服务。除了上述基础功能外,未来,港版支付宝将陆续开通充话费、水电煤缴费、转账、打车、保险等功能,让香港人的"无现金"生活与内地接轨。

CivilisedBank拿到行业执照 英国数字银行再添一员

近日,初创数字银行CivilisedBank得到了英格兰银行颁发的执照。英国银行业长期被几大集团垄断。而Tandem、Atom、Starling、Mondo、Secco和CivilisedBank这些新创企业则希望以移动端为中心的方式完成行业革新。

未来,CivilisedBank将为用户提供全方位的银行服务,包括活期账户、信用卡、储蓄以及贷款,业务渠道将同时覆盖网页和移动端,并从明年起由伦敦总部设立的呼叫中心提供支持。和很多同类银行一样,CivilisedBank强调让客户通过手机就能管理个人财务并节省开支。

该公司创始人表示:"我们希望建立一家能够挑战这种业务模式的银行,把客户的利益放在第一位,让Tandem成为客户处理金钱问题的伙伴。这意味着我们会是一家真正与客户为伍的银行,我们计划从方方面面证明这一点。"

欧洲零售商巨头Alza宣布开始接受比特币支付

欧洲零售商巨头、捷克最大电商Alza已经开始接受比特币作为支付方式,同时还在捷克首都布拉格和捷克布拉迪斯拉发市的分店安装比特币ATM。根据捷克新闻媒体Lupa报道,Alza正在自己的国际帝国中推进网上比特币支付,还包括奥地利、德国和英国。

根据报道,Alza发言人表示这项举措正式为了迎合国际国内消费者对比特币支付的强烈需求。

Alza的比特币支付操作指南中包括一条限制性条款:任何退款都将以法定货币形式退换,目前无法退回比特币。也就是说,如果你使用比特币进行支付,而后需要退款,那么只能退回法币,而无法退回比特币。这是来自欧洲零售商的第一次重大比特币接受公告,与日本等市场形成了对比,目前日本正在部署将比特币带给数千家零售商。

The SoftBank Vision Fund announced its first major close yesterday with over U.S. $93 billion of committed capital.

SoftBank to invest $1.4 billion in India's Paytm in bet on demand for mobile money

SoftBank is set to announce it will invest $1.4 billion in India's Paytm, a source familiar with the matter told CNBC asking not to be identified, placing a bet on a continued surge in the spread of mobile phones to make payments in the country.

Paytm is India's largest digital-payments provider. Its parent company, One97 Communications, was valued at $4.2 billion in 2015. However, recent estimates suggest the latest figure could be between $7 billion to $9 billion if the SoftBank India investment is factored. Paytm offers consumers a mobile wallet solution, much like Alibaba, in a nation of more than 1 billion people where credit card penetration is low and cash has become complicated recently. You Can Now Pay Bitcoin for Parking at 27 UK Airports

SkyParkSecure, an airport parking provider in the United Kingdom, is now accepting bitcoin for payments at a number of airports across the region in cities including London, Liverpool, Glasgow and Belfast.

Warby Parker's Prescription Check app lets you skip the eye doctor

Warby Parker wants to get you the right prescription glasses without forcing you to get an in-person eye test. It's now testing its new Prescription Check app that uses your phone and computer in tandem to administer a 20-minute series of eye tests, which are then reviewed by a doctor who makes the final call on your prescription.

For now, Warby Parker says only people between the ages of 18 and 40 in California, Florida, New York and Virginia who already have Warby Parker glasses are eligible for the test. And initially Warby Parker will only confirm that someone’s existing prescription is still right, before allowing the app to give users updated prescriptions in the future. (Source: Techcrunch)

Peach becomes Japan's first airline to accept payment in Bitcoin

Peach Aviation Ltd will become the first Japanese carrier to accept bitcoin as payment for airline tickets as the discount airline aims to attract more tourists from other parts of Asia.

The cryptocurrency can be used to book seats starting by the end of the year, Peach said in a statement in Tokyo Monday, adding a change in Japan's law on fund settlements in April helped facilitate the move. The carrier also aims to increase tie-ups with local governments and regional companies to help spread usage of the currency, it said. (Source: Businesstimes)

Sidechain Juggernaut RSK Labs Launches Ginger Testnet After $3.5M in New Funding

RSK Labs, the company behind Rootstock, announced at Consensus 2017 on Monday the global release of their open source testnet, Ginger. Developers worldwide can now deploy an RSK node, grab some testnet coins, and try out ethereum-style smart contracts on RSK's sidechain to the Bitcoin network.

Ginger's source code is now available on Github. A network stats page, an RSK block explorer, and a testnet RSK coin faucet are also available to the public. The RSK team says that over time, they will keep adding new features to Ginger. Citi and Nasdaq Partner For Landmark Blockchain Payment System

Nasdaq, Inc. (NDAQ) and Citi (C) Treasury and Trade Solutions are partnering for an integrated blockchain payments solution, which is set to be a landmark in the commercial application of blockchain technology.

Chain and Citi beget worked together to launch Citi's recent service - CitiConnect for Blockchain which assimilates its payments capabilities with blockchain networks, which in this case is Nasdaq's private market exchange - Nasdaq Linq. The partnership will provide a seamless stop-to-stop transactional process for private securities. LATTICE80 and Nanyang Polytechnic Partner on Fintech Program

LATTICE80, Singapore-based Fintech hub owned and operated by private investment firm Marvelstone Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) to offer a Fintech experience program for year 1 and 2 students. LATTICE80 states that the Fintech hub currently houses more than 85 startups. LedgerX Raises $11.4 Million Series B. Plans Bitcoin Options Exchange & Clearing House

Ledger Holdings has closed on an $11.4 million Series B funding round. Ledger is the parent company of LedgerX, a Bitcoin options exchange that intends on operating a regulated exchange and clearing house for digital currencies. The funding was led by Miami International Holdings Inc. (MIH) and Huiyin Blockchain Venture Investments. Huiyin is said to be the world's largest venture capital fund dedicated to Bitcoin and Blockchain startups. LedgerX is currently awaiting regulatory approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to operate the first U.S. regulated exchange and clearing house for bitcoin options. Intel and major banks, including HSBC and BOAML, pour $107 million into blockchain group

Intel, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, HSBC and dozens of other institutions have invested $107 million into R3, a group developing blockchain-like technology for financial companies.

Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs and Santander walked away from the funding round and left the R3 group, a source close to the situation told CNBC.

R3 is a group of major banks that are working together to bring so-called distributed ledger technology to their processes. JPMorgan taps Zcash privacy feature for blockchain platform

JPMorgan is to use technology from the company behind the Zcash digital currency to add a new layer of privacy protection to users of its enterprise-grade Quorum blockchain platform. The technology from the Zerocoin Electric Coin Company (ZECC) will extend Quorum's existing privacy protections to add cryptographically assured, private settlement of digitised assets on the Quorum distributed ledger without a central intermediary.

131 Countries: BitPay Goes International With Bitcoin Prepaid Visa Card

BitPay is expanding its prepaid Visa debit card offering to more than 100 new countries.

Unveiled today by BitPay chief commercial officer Sonny Singh at Consensus 2017, the Visa-branded offering enables users to top up its BitPay Prepaid Visa Card with dollars using cryptocurrency, which can then be spent as euros, British pounds or US dollars at merchants around the globe.

As such, the announcements marks perhaps the boldest execution on an idea that has been pursued by bitcoin-focused startups since 2014. But while early attempts at executing on the idea were met with setbacks, Pair said its partnership with Visa would ease issues. (Source: Coindesk)

Samsung Pay gets rolling in Taiwan

Not be overshadowed by Apply Pay, Samsung Pay gets rolling in Taiwan on Tuesday, with seven banks participating in the mobile payment and digital wallet service in the initial stage.

Samsung Pay currently supports 870+ banks and credit unions around the world, Samsung said. Samsung Pay has initially partnered with seven banks in Taiwan, including Cathay United Bank, Taipei Fubon Bank, Taishin International Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Citibank Taiwan, E.SUN Bank, and Union Bank of Taiwan, according to Samsung. Alipay moves into local currency payments in Hong Kong

Alipay, the mobile payments app from China's Alibaba, is taking its first step to offering non-yuan payment options with the release of a version denominated in Hong Kong dollars. Alipay announced the launch of 'AlipayHK', a HK-dollar account balance service, in October 2016 allowing users to top up their account in their local currency by showing the in-app QR code and paying cash at convenience stores across the territory.

Alibaba's financial services unit Ant Financial says the new dollar-denominated AlipayHK app will be accepted initially at more than 2000 stores in Hong Kong from tomorrow. (Source: Finextra)

UK digital challenger CivilisedBank gets license

Branchless CivilisedBank has received a license from the Bank of England ahead of a planned launch early next year. Focused on the UK SME market and funded by retail savings, CivilisedBank will serve businesses through savings and loans, transaction banking, overdrafts, current accounts with deposits and foreign exchange.

The new bank will not have branches but will operate through a network of 'Local Bankers' that will work to build up one-to-one relationships with SMEs. Within five years, it plans to have one of these bankers in every major town and city on the UK. (Source: Finextra)

European Retail Giant Alza Accepts Bitcoin for Payments, Could Add Altcoins

Major European retailer Alza has begun accepting Bitcoin and installing Bitcoin ATMs in its outlets in Prague and Bratislava.

According to Czech news outlet Lupa, Alza is facilitating Bitcoin payments online throughout its international empire, which also includes Austria, Germany and the UK. The publication further quotes a spokesman who stated the move is due to interest from both international and domestic customers.

"Prague is already one of Bitcoin's most important centers in Europe today. By introducing trading in bitcoins, we are supporting the growing popularity of this form of payment and the potential of new technology," Jan Sadílek, Alza's head of internet marketing, continued. (Source: Cointelegraph)
