  1. Monese成功融资1000万美元 将正式进军欧洲市场

    作为英国新兴的数字银行之一,Monese近日宣布获得来自Anthemis Exponential Ventures、Korea Investment Partners和STE Capital的1000万美元融资。

    此次融资是Korea Investment Partners对欧洲初创型公司的首次投资尝试。Korea Investment Partners是一家韩国领先的风险投资公司,总资产达15亿美元。近期,该公司还参与了对韩国第一家互联网银行Kakao Bank的投资。

    目前,Monese共支持8种货币的交易。在过去16个月内,Monese已经获得融资1500万美元,共有4万名来自179个国家的用户选择了他们的服务,平台累计完成180万次转账,转账金额总额高达1.5亿美元。

  2. Metro Bank计划在2017年为英国企业提供10亿英镑贷款

    新年来临,Metro Bank计划将在2017年为英国企业提供总额达10亿英镑的贷款。有关负责人表示,不论是老牌集团、初创公司还是商务客户,都将有权利向Metro Bank申请贷款。此外,银行还将改变以往的贷款流程,除了对申请贷款公司资产负债表等财务状况的调查,Metro Bank还将处分开展逐案审批的方式,对客户进行深入了解,把控贷款风险。

    银行将为借款方安排特定的业务经理,以帮助其优化贷款决策。同时,大型公司也将会获得由Metro Bank专家团队给予的专业金融意见指导。

    据Metro Bank相关报道称,相比于银行在2015年全年的贷款总额5.44亿英镑,2016年前三季度为企业贷款就已达到5.44亿英镑。

  3. 完美收官2016 Invesdor盼延续增长势头

    芬兰股权众筹平台Invesdor近日宣布,截止到2016年第四季度,平台筹集资金总额已超过2500万欧元,期望在新年保持良好的增长势头。

    据数据统计,Invesdor在2015年筹集资金总额达710万欧元,并在2016年实现翻倍增长,达到1470万欧元。有关负责人表示,平台计划在2017年继续保持投资翻倍增长的态势,使筹资总额突破3000万欧元。

    Invesdor计划将通过参与更大规模的商业投资项目来实现这一目标。平台有关人士称,上市公司正在掀起数字化的融资革命,其中涉及到的IPO以及上市公司的其他相关投资计划对于Invesdor目标的实现具有巨大推动作用。

  4. Yes Bank将采用区块链技术 优化供应链金融服务

    日前,印度Yes Bank宣布已加入IBM的区块链项目,为客户Bajaj Electrical及其供应商提供数字化金融服务。该银行表示,目前已经采用IBM的 Hybrid Cloud 技术,成功构建了供应商金融服务系统。通过与Yes Bank系统的对接,消费电子设备制造商Bajaj Electrical能够以数字化的方式将资金折现和支付给供应商。

    该系统采用了区块链科技中的智能合约技术,具体程序由一家名为Cateina Technologies的互联网金融初创公司编写。

  5. 印度支付巨头Paytm成功获得支付银行牌照

    近日,印度支付巨头Paytm宣布获得印度储蓄银行批准,正式成为印度首批支付银行。

    为了应对移动支付革命,近年来,印度政府创造性的设立了支付银行,并鼓励广大金融机构积极申请支付银行"营业许可证"。

    相比于传统借贷机构,支付银行目前能够接受的存款额度是没人10亿卢比。此外,移动银行还有权发行ATM卡和借记卡,提供移动支付等服务。值得注意的是,目前,有关规定禁止支付银行发放贷款。

  6. 印尼发布互联网金融行业新规

    据雅加达邮报报道,近日,印度尼西亚金融服务管理局(OJK)颁布了关于P2P网络借贷公司注册的新规定。

    新规要求新的网络借贷公司在向OJK注册时,注册资本不得低于10亿卢比(74,239美元),并且在申请营业执照时,公司资本还需要再增加25亿卢比。

    相比于规章草案中拟议的资本要求25亿和50亿,最终颁布的规定对资本要求做了明显下调。

  7. 苏格兰一大学首次开设互联网金融专业课程

    总部位于苏格兰的University of Strathclyde近日宣布开设互联网金融专业硕士课程,这也使其成为了英国首家开设互联网金融课程的大学。有关人士称,这对推进英国金融行业实现数字化转型具有重要意义。

    该大学的互联网金融硕士课程主要包括了财务和编程课程,从实践出发培养学生的分析和理解能力,从而帮助互联网金融公司提高工作效率、降低交易风险。这也将进一步巩固苏格兰在金融创新领域的领先地位。

  8. Keystone Bank宣布与NetGuardians合作 应对网络银行诈骗

    近日,位于尼日利亚的Keystone Bank宣布与瑞士金融科技公司NetGuardians合作,提高网络银行安全水平,应对网络欺诈。银行有关人士称,与NetGuardians合作,能够确保Keystone Bank能够及时有效的接收尼日利亚中央银行(CBN)以及各大监管机构发出的风控指令。

    据CBN发布的最新报告称,任何金融机构都有责任通过各自的防诈骗系统及时向尼日利亚银行结算系统(NIBSS)汇报金融诈骗行为。据悉,NetGuardians推出的防诈骗解决方案"FraudGuardian"是CBN所一直推崇的。

  9. CMA、Lloyds Banking Group 和Santander Group 宣布参加2017年零售银行创新大会

    由Fintech Network主办的零售银行创新大会将于今年3月14日和15日在伦敦举办。近日,大会官方公布了三个主讲嘉宾的名单。

    根据官方公告,演讲者包括Alasdair Smith,竞争与市场管理局(CMA)调查主席; Santander集团技术和运营总监Jonatan Alonso; 和Jonathan Webster,Lloyds银行集团数字和转型首席信息官。

  10. P2P网络借贷机构Silver Bullion宣布发放抵押贷款数额超过2000万美元

    总部在新加坡的Silver Bullion是一家专注于发放抵押贷款的P2P网络借贷公司。借款人在获得贷款的同时,需要以一定数量的金银作为抵押。从2015年成立至今,Silver Bullion宣称,已经通过开展大约800笔交易,发放了超过2000万新元的贷款。据Silver Bullion网站显示,贷款利率为2.75%到4%。

    Silver Bullion在2016年下半年的借贷量呈现稳步增长。相比于上半年,个人贷款总量提升近一倍,达到430笔,贷款总额突破1000万新元。

  11. 德勤:银行和金融机构须携手推动区块链商业化

    过去几年中,许多大型咨询公司都对区块链持乐观态度,德勤也是其中之一。在12月发布的年度报告中德勤表示,银行和金融机构必须组成联盟,以推动区块链技术的实施和商业化。

    德勤负责人Eric Piscini在接受采访时表示,公司正专注于开发和建立对区块链实施阶段进行优化的联盟或合作项目。

  14. 数字银行Tandem获House of Fraser投资3500万英镑

    近日,英国百货集团House of Fraser宣布向数字银行Tandem投资3500万英镑,用于开发独立的app端银行服务平台。

    Tandem于2016年正式获得银行牌照,同期运营的英国数字银行还有许多家,它们对现有高街银行的生存发起了一轮又一轮的挑战。2016年,Tandem累计融资超过3000万英镑,eBay联合创始人Pierre Omidvar也对该公司进行了投资。

  15. 在线借贷首次写入SEC年度报告 信用评级体系或再升级

    近日,美国证券交易委员会发布了2016年年度报告,就国家指定统计评级组织(NSROS)的发展现状作出了重要说明。其中,网络借贷作为一种新兴的借贷模式,首次被写入年度报告。

    国家指定统计评级组织负责对美国境内各大证券机构的信用等级进行统计和评级。该报告指出,近年来,以资产支持型证券市场为代表,小型的统计评级组织与大型组织的竞争愈演愈烈。

  16. 渣打在台湾推出全新数字银行平台iWealth

    本月早些时候,渣打银行宣布在台北开设全新的数字分行iWealth,这也是这个伦敦银行集团进军亚太金融科技领域的重要一步。据悉,未来三年渣打银行将在台湾地区投资15亿美元,重点为个人消费者提供全球数字银行服务。有报道称,渣打银行台湾分部可能还会想用户提供安全视频平台,保证用户在线交谈和业务链接的安全性。

  17. 瑞典互金平台Refunder获eEquity等多家公司400万美元投资

    临近年关,瑞典风险投资市场再起波澜。12月23日,互联网消费返利平台Refunder获得了来自eEquity等公司的400万美元投资。

    其中,eEquity为Refunder投资320万美元。此外,据有关人士分析,剩余投资很可能来自Bonnier Media和Crunchbase.

    Monese one of the UK's newest digital banks has received new funding from investors including Anthemis Exponential Ventures, Korea Investment Partners, and STE Capital.

    The deal represents Korea Investment Partners' first investment in a European startup. Korea Investment Partners is South Korea's leading VC with $1.5bn under management and with recent investments in the Korea's first Internet-only bank Kakao Bank.

  2. Metro Bank to lend £1bn to UK businesses in 2017

    Metro Bank has signaled that it is open for business with £1bn of funds ring-fenced for lending in 2017.

    The funds will be available to both new and existing businesses, as well as commercial customers. The bank says it will take a case-by-case approach to lending, getting to know the customer, rather than just their balance sheet.

    Borrowers are allocated a local business manager, who helps to make lending decisions, while larger businesses can access "expert guidance" from dedicated specialist sector teams.

  3. Invesdor doubles its equity crowdfunding platform investment in 2016 and plans to do the same in 2017

    Invesdor, the equity crowdfunding platform based in Finland announced that funds raised through its platform surpassed €25m just before 2016 ended and says it is on track to reap the same success for 2017.

    The platform raised €7.1m of investment in 2015 and doubled that number in 2016 to €14.7m. The company says "Our goal for 2017 is to keep up with the habit of doubling investments, and reach €30m in new investments via our platform."(Source: altfi

  4. Yes Bank uses blockchain to help client with vendor financing

    India's Yes Bank has enlisted the help of IBM for a blockchain project that digitises vendor financing for client Bajaj Electricals. The bank says that it has used IBM's Hybrid Cloud technology to build a vendor financing system which allows consumer electrical equipment manufacturing company Bajaj Electricals to digitise the process for discounting and disbursal of funds to its vendors by integrating seamlessly with Yes's systems.(Source: Finextra

  5. Paytm gets RBI nod for payments bank launch

    Indian mobile wallet giant Paytm has received the regulatory green light to begin operating one of the country's new wave of payments banks.

    In a bid to take advantage of the mobile revolution to increase financial inclusion, India's government recently began inviting firms to apply for so-called 'payments bank' licenses.

    These new players, taking on traditional lenders, are able to take deposits of up to Rs 1 lakh, issue debit and ATM cards, and facilitate online transactions - but are not allowed to lend money.(Source: Finextra

  6. Indonesia issues new rules for fintechs

    The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has introduced new regulations for fintech firms running a peer to peer lending business, according to a report in the Jakarta Post.

    The new rules require firms to have a minimum of Rp1bn ($74,239) when registering with the OJK and an increased capital requirement of Rp2.5bn when applying for a business license.

  7. Scottish university launches UK's first fintech course

    Scotland-based University of Strathclyde has announced the launch of a new masters program in fintech, making it UK's first fintech course, in order to support the digital transformation of the country's financial industry.

    The university's Master of Science (M.Sc.) in fintech will offer students the financial, programming, analytical skills and deep understanding that are needed to help firms accelerate transactions and enhance security.   8. Keystone Bank selects fintech firm NetGuardians for protection against e-banking fraud

    Nigeria-based Keystone Bank has chosen Swiss-based fintech firm NetGuardians for real-time protection from online banking fraud ensuring Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the country's central bank and regulator's recent published risk desk directive.

    CBN published a new directive, which needs financial institutions to report any suspicious events to the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS) automatically via an enterprise fraud system.   10. Silver & Gold: P2P Lender Silver Bullion Passes $20M in Secured Lending

    Silver Bullion is a one of a kind online lender. The peer to peer lending platform based in Singapore is a secured lender that backs up each loan with gold or silver bullion. Launched in mid-2015, Silver Bullion has just announced it has surpassed S$20 million in lending from around 800 loans. According to their website, loans are ranging from 2.75% to 4% interest.

    Silver Bullion reports that it has experienced a solid increase in lending and borrowing during the second half of 2016. The number of individual loans more than doubled to 430 loans when comparing the first six months of 2016.   11. Deloitte: Banks Need to Form Consortiums For Blockchain to Work

    Deloitte has expressed optimism towards Blockchain over the past few years, stated in an annual report released in December that banks and financial institutions must form consortiums in order to pursue the implementation and commercialization of Blockchain technology.

    Eric Piscini, a principal with Deloitte, stated in an interview that the company is focused on the development and establishment of consortiums or collaborative projects that could optimize the implementation phase of Blockchain. There exist numerous conflicts the technology will have to deal with and in order to provide solutions for complex issues, such as regulatory disputes, major firms must come together to produce collaborative projects.(Source: Coin

  12. World Bank Invests in Myanmar's Financial Inclusion, $100M in Credit

    The World Bank established the Financial Sector Development Project to support Myanmar's SMEs - the latest sign of progress in the country's economy. The five-year project includes $100 million in credit, which will be used to allow SMEs increased access to financial services. The project will focus on the country's microfinance and insurance sectors.   14. House of Fraser invests £35m in neobank Tandem

    A UK department store is making a multi-million pound investment in an app-only challenger bank in order to offer its shoppers an exclusive banking tool and payment method.

  15. Online Lending Enters Annual SEC Report on Rating Organizations for First Time

    The Securities and Exchange Commission publishes an annual report on "nationally recognized statistical rating organizations (NSROs)."   17. Swedish fintech company Refunder grabs $4 million from eEquity

    Stockholm keeps raking them up. Not content to close the year just yet, Sweden added another $4 million (SEK 37 million) in venture funding Friday with eEquity leading a round in cashback startup Refunder.

  18. Korea's Central Bank Considers 'Supernode' for Blockchain Oversight

    Published as part of an overview of the central bank's future plans, the report titled "Present Status and Key Issues of Distributed Ledger Technology" further details policy issues that it believes could hinder the growth of distributed ledgers.

    The Bank of Korea proposes that the supernode would also be responsible for issuing tokens and granting participants (or "token users") access to the shared ledger, and calls for a Merkle root-based implementation of a public blockchain capable of conducting 3,000 transactions per second.(Source: Coindesk

    Digital money transfer service WorldRemit and global money transfer brand Xpress Money have partnered to open up new remittance routes to Bangladesh expected to further support the growing demand for instant remittances in the country.
