全球最大比特币交易所正进行融资 估值已达10亿美元

美国初创公司、比特币交易所Coinbase正与寻求在最新一轮融资中融得约1亿美元或更多资金。若成功完成,则将创下比特币领域的最高一轮融资记录,同时,该公司最新估值也将超过10亿美元。今年1月,Coinbase已从纽约证券交易所、USAA Bank、西班牙银行集团BBVA等数家大型金融机构处融得7500万美元资金。

Coinbase是全世界交易量最大的比特币交易平台。最近几周,随着全世界范围内的比特币交易持续火爆,价格甚至屡屡创出新高,该平台交易量也水涨船高。今年早些时候,Coinbase从纽约市金融服务部门获得虚拟货币和货币转换许可证。

Android Pay台湾全面上线 扩大至全球13个国家地区

谷歌公司日前宣布,Android Pay现已在台湾地区全面上线。据悉,台湾是Android Pay在亚洲市场上线的第四个地区。对于台湾地区的Android手机用户而言,使用Android Pay可能帮助他们在手机上快速、安全地进行移动支付,还可以让用户获得与信用卡相同的积分。

Android Pay登陆台湾地区,获得了包括CTBC中国信托商业银行、第一银行、安泰银行、华南银行以及新光银行在内的多家银行的支持。目前支持Android Pay服务的十三个国家和地区分别为:美国、英国、澳大利亚、加拿大、新加坡、香港特别行政区、波兰、新西兰、爱尔兰、日本、比利时、俄罗斯和台湾地区。

LG pay快捷支付在韩国正式上线

LG近日在韩国推出LG Pay,正式向三星的Samsung Pay和苹果的Apple Pay移动支付服务发起挑战。在美国,数字支付服务发展缓慢。Pymnts研究显示,三星占领先地位,占比4.5%,Apple Pay占比4%,而Android Pay则有所下降,占比1.1%。在印度,由于当地政府取消了部分实体货币的流通,因此数字钱包得到了长足发展。

据报道,目前该支付功能仅适用于LG G6的韩国用户,不过LG方面表示未来这一服务会逐渐拓展到其他设备上。据悉, LG Pay允许用户注册多达10张银行卡,包括信用卡、会员卡和运输卡等等。要使用LG Pay付款,用户直接跟信用卡终端接触,在手机上扫描指纹即可快速完成支付。

美国理财平台Greenlight获750万美元A轮融资

近日,美国创企Greenlight获得750万美元A轮融资,投资方包括Relay Ventures、Social Capital、New Enterprise Associates(NEA)和TTV Capital。Greenlight计划利用这笔资金去扩建团队,并帮助自己的智能借记卡获取更多用户。

据悉,Greenlight为现今的父母设计了一种智能借记卡,专门给他们的孩子用。你可以通过配套的手机应用给这张卡充钱,同时对孩子购买的商品种类也有限制。在进入市场6个月后,这家公司已经拥有了1万名注册用户。Greenlight的目标受众是正处于8到18岁的孩子。这项服务的月费只需要5美元,它会为每个家庭提供最多5张借记卡。Greenlight主要通过月订阅费用获取营收,同时它也会从所有交易中收取中介费。

欧盟拨款500万欧元投资区块链监控项目

一个由政府机构、执法部门和研究人员组成的团队正在合作研发一个新的数字货币监控项目。

这个项目名为"Tools for the Investigation of Transactions in Underground Markets"(地下市场交易调查工具),也就是TITANIUM,将在未来3年内开始运作。目前该项目已经获得了欧盟(EU)500万欧元的资金支持。项目参与者包括国际刑警组织、西班牙和奥地利的国家部门、芬兰的国家调查局以及英国伦敦大学学院等。项目支持者在声明中提到了近期在全球范围内爆发的勒索软件病毒,并表示这一事件正是他们加强追踪加密货币支付能力的最好证明。

WWDC2017苹果全球开发者大会:iOS 11将支持P2P转账

6月6日,苹果在2017WWDC大会上宣布,苹果用户今后可以通过iMessage来给他们的朋友转账了。这项新功能将作为一个应用被内置到iMessage里,只需轻触通讯里的联系人,就能轻松实现收付款。苹果还将这项服务同Apple Pay进行了深度整合。当用户获得转账时,收到的钱就会被转入到Wallet的Apple Pay虚拟信用卡里。用户既可以将这笔钱转出到银行卡,也可以直接在任何支持Apple Pay服务的地方使用这张虚拟信用卡,且无需等待转账的时间。

这项新服务可以让更多的人使用Apple Pay,帮助苹果与PayPal的Venmo竞争,后者已成为美国P2P支付领域的领头羊。传统的银行和Square也一直在推动自己的资金转账服务。

以太币今年来暴涨2800% 近四成交易量来自韩国

加密货币以太币(Ethereum)周日价格创下历史新高,达250.41美元,这意味着今年该货币已上涨超2800%。据统计,全球近4成的以太坊交易量来自于韩国。日交易量达到了1.05亿美元。从现阶段以太坊发展以及韩国以太坊生态系统的状态来看,实现从比特币到以太坊及其它竞争币的转移似乎是当地投资者的一种策略,旨在从竞争币的爆发中分一杯羹。

目前,比特币仍然是全球市值最大的加密货币,数据显示,当前所有主要加密货币的总市值约为790亿美元,其中比特币的市值为350亿美元,占比已不到一半,同时,以太坊和瑞波的市值分别增长到了170亿美元和130亿美元。

摩根士丹利计划利用机器学习算法升级财务顾问

摩根士丹利计划利用机器学习算法助力公司旗下1.6万名财务顾问,该算法将于7月在500名顾问中进行先行试点,预计年底前全面推广。和只用软件为普通用户配置资产相比,有算法协助的真人顾问对于富裕家庭理财来说是一个更好的解决方案。摩根士丹利财富管理部门首席分析和数据官Jeff McMillan称,摩根士丹利的算法将根据客户的个人生活经历和市场变化等因素向员工发送多项选择建议。他表示,电话、电子邮件和网站互动将被分类管理,以便机器学习程序可以跟踪并逐步改进它们的建议,从而带来更多的业务机会。

外媒评价称,真人理财顾问在面对可能被机器取代的威胁时,最佳的出路恰恰是把这些技术利用起来:算法加大数据和机器学习。

Seedrs正式开启股权众筹二级市场

当地时间6月6日,英国股权众筹平台Seedrs正式启动股权众筹领域内的首个二级交易市场。同时,为了集中市场需求、提高交易流动性和成功率,二级市场的固定开放时间为以后每个月的首个星期二。自2014年以来,Seedrs完成股权众筹交易超过200笔,筹集股份数量达到250万。Seedrs发言人表示,随着市场上股份交易需求的日益增长,二级交易市场的开放能够进一步满足市场需求,提高投资者收益,降低交易风险。

Seedrs并不是首家为股权众筹投资者需求二级市场作为解决方案的公司。许多聚焦不动产的平台,如Property Partner,都已拥有活跃的二级市场。Seedrs的主要竞争对手Crowdcube在去年夏天通过自有平台募得资金后就主要研究计划推出二级市场,然而尚未推出。

比特币价格变化牵动日本资本市场

自从政府承认比特币的合法支付地位以来,日本公司仍因接受比特币而不断获利。那些提供比特币服务的小型企业的股票价格正随着比特币价格的增长而增长。

4月1日,日本首相安倍晋三政府合法化比特币为一种支付方式。这项新法案为比特币交易所设定了严格的规则,赋予了这一数字货币更多的可信度。很多公司随后在原有的商业模式中加入了比特币,有些公司还和小型比特币初创企业建立了合作关系。而随着比特币在日本的普及度越来越高,其价格也实现了大幅的上涨。日本大型比特币交易所Bitflyer的数据显示,截止发稿时,比特币从年初到现在的涨幅达到了180%。与此同时,那些在自己的业务中整合比特币的中小型上市交易所企业的股票也有类似的上涨模式。

澳大利亚证券交易所上线比特币购买股票服务

澳大利亚证券交易所(ASX)本周三宣布,比特币能够用于购买在该交易所上线的公司股份。Blockchain Global Limited(BGL)承诺购买Digitalx 40%的股权,其中部分资金通过比特币进行支付。

上个月,澳大利亚宣布比特币双重税将会在7月1日取消。在延迟了一年以后,政府终于将取消比特币双重税纳入了2017到2018年财政预算中。目前使用数字货币的消费者需要支付两次消费税(GST):一次是在购买数字货币时,另一次是在使用数字货币购买其他商品和服务时。另外,政府也将为创新数字货币企业在澳大利亚的运营提供便利。

新加坡金融网站Moneysmart获1000万美元B轮融资

6月8日,新加坡金融网站Moneysmart宣布获得1000万美元B轮融资,本轮融资由日本电子商务商品信息网站Kakaku领投,A轮投资方SPH媒体基金和金门风险投资公司参投。

据悉,Moneysmart将利用此次资金继续加大营销力度,在产品开发、销售、内容和新市场拓展方面扩充团队,进行人才升级。

Moneysmart成立于2009年,其主要为用户提供财务分析和指导,帮助用户比较17种不同的个人理财产品,包括信用卡、保险和贷款。网站访问者还可以阅读随附博客中的各种财务话题,其内容由全职员工维护。2012年2月,Moneysmart获得金门风险投资公司的50万美元种子轮融资;2015年10月,Moneysmart获得SPH媒体基金领投,金门风险投资公司、融合风险投资以及OPT SEA跟投的200万美元A轮融资。

美国科技金融初创公司Wahed获500万美元种子轮融资

近日,美国科技初创企业Wahed Invest Inc.宣布已经完成500万美元种子轮融资,投资方包括Afkar Holdings管理合伙人Khalid Al Jassim、前JPMorgan Chase总经理John Elkhair和前麦肯锡咨询公司合伙人Nasr-Eddine Benaissa等。

公司表示,将会利用此轮融资拿到的资金来扩大业务规模。公司首席执行官Junaid Wahedna表示,如果公司顺利在接下来的两三个月中,把应用程序推广出去,那么下一步的发展重点就应该是借记卡。" Wahed成立于2015年5月,公司专门为穆斯林用户提供服务,帮助他们找到理想的符合宗教信仰的 投资对象。公司将会采用机器人顾问这种金融服务模式。平台设置的最低投资数额是500美元。

美众议院近期将举办虚拟货币听证会

根据公布的备忘录,这次听证会的主办方为反恐怖主义和非法金融小组委员会,并且会议名称被定为了"虚拟货币:金融创新及国家安全影响"。

委员会将集中讨论"恐怖分子以及金融科技(FinTech)的非法应用;比特币等虚拟货币对国家安全的影响;以及区块链技术在记录交易及揭开非法活动上的应用。"这次听证会,正值美国国会议员将注意力转向了数字货币,但主要是关注了恐怖主义融资这一块。为了研究这一领域,众议院的小组委员会正在考虑一项法案,上周,两位有影响力的参议员提出了一项法案,呼吁对美国的数字货币商业活动进行更多的监管。

美国电信巨头AT&T正式获得比特币区块链专利

美国电信巨头AT&T已经获得了一种基于区块链技术的归属用户服务器(HSS)专利。所谓的归属用户服务器(HSS)可以为订阅持有者提供身份验证和媒体传递功能。据此前报道,AT&T的专利旨在通过创建一种可以共享信息的分布式节点网络来改善这些系统的弹性。

AT&T于2015年4月份首次申请了这个专利。根据美国专利与商标办公室(USPTO)的记录显示,这个专利获批的日期为2017年5月30日。在此之前,AT&T并未透露很多关于他们的区块链研究的信息。值得注意的是,这个HSS专利申请显示出AT&T考虑直接使用比特币区块链,而不是创建实施自己的区块链。

Bitcoin start-up Coinbase is looking to raise money at a $1 billion valuation

Coinbase, a website for buying, selling and storing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, is talking to investors about raising money at a $1 billion valuation, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the situation.

The funding round isn't set, but the company is looking to raise around $100 million, which would be the biggest ever for a bitcoin company. To date, Coinbase has raised about $116.5 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Union Square Venture and DFJ, as well as a number of banks and the NYSE. (Source: CNBC)

Android Pay Now In Taiwan

Google is making a big push with Android Pay, announcing Thursday (June 1) it is now in Taiwan, marking the thirteenth country for the payment service.

With the launch in Taiwan, the company has support of local shops, applications and banks. Google didn't say how many retailers in Taiwan now accept Android Pay, although Starbucks, PX Mart, Carrefour and Watsons are supporting the payment method, the report said. In the coming days Android Pay will roll out support from credit card firms Mastercard and Visa. The two banks that are supporting Android Pay in Taiwan are CTBC and First Bank. (Source: PYMNTS)

LG launches a mobile payment service in Korea

LG announced plans for its own mobile payment service way back in November 2015, and today it finally went official with the launch.

The LG Pay service is initially limited to the G6, LG's flagship smartphone, via a software update, but it is only available in Korea. There is launch support for cards from Shinhan Bank, KB, BC and Lotte, and LG plans to cover all of Korea's card companies by September. LG Pay requires a user's fingerprint to process every transaction. It uses magnetic signals to enable a mobile device to communicate with a regular credit card terminal in order to make the payment. Greenlight raises $7.5 million so parents can provide a smart debit card to their kids

For parents today, a company called Greenlight is offering a smart debit card that can be given to their kids, instantly reloaded with funds from a mobile app, and place restrictions around merchants their children can make purchases.

After less than six months in market, the company has already signed up 10,000 paying customers and has attracted $7.5 million in funding from investors that include Relay Ventures, Social Capital, New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and TTV Capital. Greenlight plans to use that funding to expand its team and invest in attracting more customers with its smart debit card. (Source: Techcrunch)

EU Commits €5 Million to Fund Blockchain Surveillance Research

A group of government agencies, law enforcement groups and academic researchers are partnering on a new digital currency surveillance project.

Backed by €5m in funding from the European Union, the initiative, dubbed "Tools for the Investigation of Transactions in Underground Markets", or TITANIUM, will be conducted over the next three years. Participants include Interpol, Interior Ministries from Spain and Austria, Finland's National Bureau of Investigation, and University College London, among others. (Source: CoinDesk)

Apple launches peer-to-peer payments to take on Square, PayPal and Venmo

Apple just announced that iOS 11 will support peer-to-peer payments through a new feature called Pay Cash, making it a direct competitor to similar services offered by Square Cash, PayPal, Venmo and even Facebook.

Peer-to-peer payments allow one user to pay another one through their smartphone. You might use it to pay a friend for pizza, for example, or to split a meal at a restaurant. It's an industry that's been growing in popularity, and one Apple has been rumored to enter. (Source: CNBC)

Ethereum hits another record high, marking a more than 2,800% rally this year

On June 5, ethereum traded at an all-time high of $250.41, according to data from industry website CoinDesk. This is up 2,839 percent from the $8.52 handle it had on January 1. Ethereum was trading at around $246.62 on Monday morning, slightly off its record high.

Ether is the name of the cryptocurrency which runs on the ethereum blockchain, which is the technology that underpins the digital coin. But ethereum is often used as shorthand for the digital currency as well. (Source: CNBC)

Morgan Stanley Arms Advisors with Machine Learning

Morgan Stanley is arming its advisors with algorithms that function something like human assistants. The machine-learning algorithms will suggest trades, take over routine tasks and send reminders about clients' approaching birthdays. It will catalogue phone, email and website interactions with clients in order to improve its suggestions over time and generate more business.

The program will be piloted with 500 advisors next month, and the rest of Morgan Stanley's 16,000 brokers will get access by the end of the year. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley remains on track to roll out a robo-advisor in coming months, Bloomberg says. But McMillan says human advisors have nothing to fear because they’re best at handling clients’ complex financial planning needs. (Source: barrons)

Seedrs Secondary Market in Crowdfunded Securities Launches on June 6

Seedrs has launched its secondary market for securities in crowdfunded companies. According to Thomas Davies, Seedrs Chief Investment Officer, the market launched with 111 share lots in over 80 different businesses. The market will remain open for seven days and will reconvene the first Tuesday of every month.

During the Beta launch, Seedrs Secondary Market will only allow existing shareholders in a business to trade shares. Pricing will be set by Seedrs based upon operational data Seedrs maintains on each listed company. Seedrs has indicated its intent to introduce a bid/ask system at some point in the future. Japanese Companies Embracing Bitcoin See Stocks Soar with Rising Bitcoin Price

Japanese companies continue to benefit from embracing Bitcoin, following its approval by the government as a form of payment. Small businesses listed on stock exchanges that offer bitcoin-related services are seeing their share prices rise as the price of bitcoin spikes.

On April 1, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's government legalized bitcoin as a form of payment. The law, which enforces strict rules on bitcoin exchanges, gives the digital currency more credibility. As bitcoin becomes more widely accepted in Japan, its price rises sharply. The cryptocurrency has risen approximately 180 percent at press time since the beginning of the year. Bitcoin Used to Buy Stake in Company on the Australian Securities Exchange

The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) announced on Wednesday that bitcoin will be used to buy a stake in a company listed on its exchange. Blockchain Global Limited (BGL) has agreed to buy a 40% interest in Digitalx, paying partly in bitcoins.

The agreement is between BGL and Digitalx, a blockchain-enhanced software solutions group listed on the ASX. Digitalx's "Airpocket" application allows consumers to make secure and cost-effective money transfers worldwide. Australia announced last month that bitcoin’s double taxation will end on July 1. After over a year of delay, the government finally included the removal of the double taxation of bitcoin in its 2017-2018 budget. (Source: bitcoin.com)

Singapore finance portal MoneySmart raises US$10M to boost presence in APAC

Singapore-based personal finance portal MoneySmart has raised S$14 million (US$10 million) in a Series B round led by Kakaku.com Inc, a Japanese online service provider. Existing investors SPH Media Fund and Golden Gate Ventures also participated in the round.

MoneySmart will use the fresh round of financing to boost its presence in Singapore and Indonesia, and expand into new regional markets. This will be achieved through stronger marketing efforts, and hiring of new talents across all its teams, including platform, content, business development and marketing. (Source: CNBC)

Wahed Raises $5m In Seed Funding

Wahed, a New York-based robo-advisor designed for Shariah-standard, ethical investing, raised $5m in seed funding.

Wahed is an automated investment service designed for Shariah-standard, ethical investing. The company has launched its new online platform and lowered the minimum investment required to $500 for clients in the United States. It approach to ethical investing in the digital age utilizes a human review panel to screen certain stocks, commodities and other investment types that are not socially responsible or Shariah compliant, before automating algorithm-based investments. US House Committee to Hold Virtual Currency Hearing

The US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee is holding a hearing on virtual currencies this week.

According to a published memorandum, the Thursday hearing is being hosted by the Terrorism and Illicit Finance Subcommittee, and is entitled "Virtual Currency: Financial Innovation and National Security Implications". The committee will focus on exploring "terrorists and illicit use of ... FinTech, the national security implications of virtual currencies such as bitcoin, and the use of 'blockchain' technologies to record transactions and uncover illicit activities". (Source: Coindesk)

AT&T Awarded Patent for Bitcoin-Powered Subscriber Server

US telecom giant AT&T has been awarded a patent for a kind of home subscriber server backed by blockchain tech.

A home subscriber server performs authentication and media delivery functions for subscription holders. AT&T's patent was aimed at improving the resiliency of these systems by creating a distributed network of nodes that share information. At the time of its release, the application was notable for the fact that AT&T hadn't revealed much of its work with the tech prior. The home subscriber server application was also noteworthy as it revealed that AT&T weighed utilizing the bitcoin blockchain itself versus an implementation of its own. (Source: Coindesk)
